Official Advice: Respect…
1. Good communication helps. Say clearly and neutrally - without accusing anyone of anything – what you want in terms of boundaries and privacy.
2. Show respect. No one likes to be ridiculed or dismissed. If a conflict arises, try to focus on the actual problem, rather than on character flaws of the person involved.
3. If you feel your mother-in-law is jealous of you, there is little you can do about being attractive and having your husband’s/wife’s love, but it is possible that you would relieve your mother-in-law’s antagonism by taking steps along with your husband, to show her that she is loved and appreciated.
