Nut Job

Hello Fellow Soldiers I have come to this site in search of help, release and hopefully a laugh? Overall I consider myself to be a very lucky, happy and healthy individual, however, my life has one sore spot - my future mother in law… It’s going to take me hours to tell you all my stories but I’m going to tell you what has JUST HAPPENED because if I don’t, I’ll probably burst!!!

I have just come home from my engagement brunch, which was a total disaster and to be honest I didn’t even want to be there. How sad is that? Lets take it from the top. I personally don’t like engagement parties so I decied to have an intimate brunch with closest family and friends at an exclusive venue. This process took 5 weeks to organise because my future MIL would not come along if she didn’t get to choose the venue herself. EVEN THOUGH MY FATHER WAS THE ONE WHO WAS PAYING!!! What is that all about?

After weeks of upset and tantrums I had to adjust my plans so she would come. Not only did she put me out, some of my family members, she ultimately put my father out as he is self employed and today DID NOT suit him but of course to keep the peace my family had to back down. Anyway, we arrived at a party that no-one wanted to go to. Everyone is angry, upset and we all have to play happy families. Not only was I RAGING at all the nonsense that has been going on over the past few weeks over a brunch - MY BRUNCH she turned up wearing an identical outfit to mine. A cheaper version of course but totally inappropraite for a 60 year old women. Stupid cow. IS IT JUST ME OR IS THAT SHOCKING??? Please help.

OMG.. same thing basically happened to me but it was dinner.

Get this my now MIL walked halfway through dinner after an arguement over the wedding she wasn’t even paying for. Her and my FIL stormed out leaving myself, my fiance, mother and father flabergasted in the middle of the hotel we had already booked for the reception.. couldn’t have been more embarressed.

I feel your pain!

No way! I’m glad to hear I have someone that feels my pain. I’m sorry to hear you’re experiencing the same torture as me. Is it not awful that someone can cause so much crap! It’s pathetic that women in their 60’s act like teenage bullies.

I want to boot her in the ****

To hell with MIL’s!!! I have a fantastic Mum and don’t need to replace her with an inferior model!
I am getting divorced - phew! And still my ex-MIL is interferring… I am buying out her son (he was the one who had an affair with a 17 year old from his office - he was 37 - all very Gary Glitter - esk if you ask me) and she is instructing her son’s lawyer to see my books (which she can’t) as she still struggles with the fact that I am more independent than her son…he is unambitious and lazy because of her, after all it was her that brought him up!!
I am a respectful happy person but I will never go out my way for a future MIL. There is no point, she would probably hate me even if I was Mother Theresa!!!
My advice is live your own lives, and keep MIL’s at a distance! :)

Go Alli! You are so better off without that Glitter wannabe! And your ex MIL - she sounds totally jealous of you, pathetic.

Stay fabulous - that’s the best way to get them! x
