I am getting divorced - phew! And still my ex-MIL is interfering…
I am buying out her son (he was the one who had an affair with a 17 year old from his office - he was 37 - all very Gary Glitter-esk if you ask me) and she is instructing her son’s lawyer to see my books (which she can’t) as she still struggles with the fact that I am more independent than her son…he is unambitious and lazy because of her, after all it was her that brought him up!!
I am a respectful happy person but I will never go out my way for a future MIL. There is no point, she would probably hate me even if I was Mother Theresa!!!
My advice is live your own lives, and keep MIL’s at a distance!
Sounds like she’s paying the legal fees. Drag things out -cost her a bundle in legal fees…and then present the old bag with a freshly cooked set of books!!
